Harrogate Theatre Phase 3 - Refurbishment Of Circle Bar

The Theatre has been alive with the sound of RDF workmen completing the third phase of the building refurbishment which will see the Circle Bar completely transformed with many of its original features restored.

Both the back and front of the bar have been given a new lease of life. The bar itself has been shortened, fully stripped and stained, and repositioned to allow more room for both staff and audience members. New chandeliers will be installed to match those in the Foyer and Circle Landing area. The decorative frieze and plasterwork adorning the ceiling have both been restored to their former glory with missing areas being replaced. A new heating system has been installed along with hardwood flooring.

Towards the end of the bar the beautiful full length windows, which were previously obscured, have been revealed to allow for more natural light and views over Oxford Street. The bar will be fully re-decorated and new seating will be installed throughout. There is also the addition of a low-level bar area to provide disabled access.

The third phase of refurbishment is the culmination of the Theatres three year project to completely restore the front of house areas, and it is hoped that the restoration work will continue so future generations of theatregoers can enjoy the much-loved Victorian building.
