The final unit that was being converted at the Lawns House Development has been completed and handed over to the new owners.
Large sections of the external stone walls were carefully taken down, catalogued and re-built to increase the internal floor space of the, now vast, two bed roomed, two bath roomed property.
The glazed atrium was fully replaced with the existing timber trusses and decorative paneling being given a new lease of life via LED lighting and a specifically chosen colour scheme. The property was, as with the other units on the development, fully rewired with a new heating system and sanitary ware throughout.
Solid Oak flooring, a multi fuel stove and an anthracite kitchen completed the modern, minimalistic finish that the client hoped to achieve.
RDF Building were one of only two winners at the Regional finals awards ceremony that were entered into the National awards.
As a result of this success the Shire Oak Road scheme is now shortlisted for the National Local Authority Building Control Award within the Restoration and Conversion Excellence Category with the ceremony to be held at the famous Brewery Venue in London on November 11th where we hope to be celebrating success again!
Accepting the regional award on behalf of RDF Building are (l-r) Graham Mattison – Contracts Manager, Michael Brearey – Commercial Director and Richard Jagger of R J Design Ltd.
Michael Brearey, John Kennedy and Graham Mattison with the RoSPA award
Further to our recent success at the RoSPA Awards for our commitment to Health and Safety RDF Building Services can now boast to be rubbing shoulders with the likes of Marks and Spencer, DHL, EDF Energy and WM Morrisons Supermarkets to name a few who were also recognised with a Silver Award.
As part of the awards process the 3 delegates that were invited to represent RDF (Michael Brearey Commercial Director, John Kennedy Head of Health and Safety and Graham Mattison Contracts Manager) were invited to participate in a number of Health and Safety Seminars. Each individual was asked to contribute and participate throughout the proactive seminars and the feedback received was excellent, with the outcome further enhancing learning and understanding of the field which can only add to our already excellent Health and Safety record and bring further value to our current and future clients.
Our Health and Safety Manager John Kennedy was delighted to collect the prestigious RoSPA Silver Award at this year’s award ceremony The award is a fantastic accolade to have as it makes a statement on how much emphasis is placed by RDF on providing a safe working environment for both Clients and employees to operate in. The award is also a special tribute to everyone working in the company for helping to achieve the award. John, is intending to use this award as a spring board to further achievements and recognition’s which rewards the work everyone has contributed in our health and safety goals.
