Working in conjunction with The Disabilities Trust, RDF have converted an existing residential property into a new home with six individual en suite dwellings for service users, communal living, cooking & eating areas along with space for a full time carer.
Large amounts of structural alterations where undertaken at the property to achieve the layout that the Trust required. A lift was installed into the property to increase accessibility for the service users and encourage independence. An open plan kitchen, complete with rise & fall cooking and washing facilities, was created to enable further integration and socialising of the service users.
Each of the en suites were created as wet rooms allowing further independence and privacy. The high specification of sanitary ware was complemented by the quality finish that RDF delivered during the installation.
As well as the internal remodelling works there were various remedial works undertaken to the external envelope of the building and the grounds. Roofing, new windows and landscaping works were all completed to try to make the external of the building as appealing as the internal.
The project was a complete change from it’s original appearance to the finished project. We are very proud to have created this new home for the service users to develop skills and confidence, and for The Disabilities Trust to continue doing the great work that they carry out.
