The Foresters Arms, situated within the tranquil village of Lower Cumberworth, was in need of some drastic renovation however the client and architect had drawn up a massive scheme that was to not only fully rejuvenate the trade area but to also add essential additional covers to the site via an external timber decked area.
RDF Building successfully won the tender process and immediately started discussing the minimisation of disturbance, closure and cost with the client and architect whilst ensuring maximum impact and value for money was obtained from the much needed works.
The project included a full internal refurbishment of all trading areas whilst upgrading the property to be DDA compliant. These works included installing level access into the building via the decked area, raising the height of existing buildings, widening doorways achieved via structural alterations and the adaption & conversion of the existing WC facilities to create an additional DDA compliant facility whilst refurbishing the existing WCs. In addition to these works the bar tops were replaced with new bespoke, solid ash alternatives and the creation of a double sided solid fuel fireplace were also undertaken.
The timescales onsite were tight but the RDF team works around the clock, and did so, to deliver a stunning refurbishment which is full of character unique to the building.
“We were lucky enough to have RDF handle our refurbishment and from the pre-start meetings to the final handover we have found them approachable, flexible, responsible and capable.
They have built us a space that our team, our guests and ourselves love. An environment that feels substantial and well built as well as attractive and aspirational. Thank you” – Jeff & Jessica, Owners of the Foresters Arms
