The historic Black Horse Hotel, a grade II Listed building located in the market town of Otley, has had major works completed to it prior to Le Tour De France’s Grand Depart.
The brief that RDF Building were appointed to undertake consisted of the trading area being fully restored in keeping with it’s Victorian heritage, alongside the injection of a few modern twists, as well the modernisation of the existing hotel rooms to ensure that standardisation throughout the suites was achieved.
The superb, imposing building comprises of many, spacious suites located over two floors, a large function room that can be divided if required, a restaurant/formal eating area and the main bar which also has various rooms that can be explored. Ornate cornices, preserved friezes, extravagant light fittings, open fires, sumptuous furniture and opulent finishes are all boxes that have been fully ticked on this project.
The outbuildings have also be utilised to include cycle friendly amenities such as secure ‘parking’, washing facilities and a compressor to ensure that the all important tyre pressure is correct!
The property was completed and opened before Le Tour De France Grand Depart passed through Otley and was supported by the local people and towns visitor’s on it’s (re)opening.
