Project Description
The specialist, extensive, conservation works to save the Victoria Quay footbridge are completed and the bridge has re-opened.
Major structural repairs were delicately completed, in a phased programme, by RDF’s skilled craftsmen to ensure that the bridge did not sustain any further damage whilst it was being restored. Structural propping and scaffolding were erected to ensure there was no further movement or damage to the historic structure.
Large sections of timber were replaced, repaired and treated as well as the installation of additional metal structural supports to ensure that the bridge continues to survive for a number of decades into the future.
