A* rated windows for Grade II Listed Quarry Mount Primary School

Project Description

RDF were appointed to complete the manufacture and installation of timber windows to Grade II Listed school

Our joinery workshop manufactured the timber frames in phases to allow installation on a classroom by classroom basis.  This enabled us to complete the project during term time.  Our Health & Safety Plan was built around the school being fully occupied by pupils and teachers for the duration of the project.

There was however a major issue on site whilst the works were being completed in the run up to the Christmas period ……Santa Claus was unable to attend the site to give the children their presents……..that was until the Site Foreman stepped into the breach and donned the famous red outfit to ensure that all the children got the Christmas that they deserved by handing out gifts and listening to there Yuletide wishes!

Teachers, pupils and the Head Mistress were delighted with the installation which now ensures draft free classrooms.  An added benefit was our interaction with the children and staff. The school is also to benefit from the savings which will be made on winter heating costs.  Due to our care, attention to detail and support we were asked to return to the school during the next holiday break to design & install a new heating system.

The headmistress was happy to retire leaving behind a legacy of a happy and hot school.
