The supermarket chain, Aldi, employed RDF to complete a full roof survey, of two existing sites, which highlighted that the roof covering was in poor condition through vandalism and wear & tear and had life expired.
RDF were then instructed to complete the full stripping off and replacement of the roofs including the removal and reinstatement of the glazed canopy, guttering and extraction vents, after the submission of a successful tender bid.
The works were postponed over the Christmas period, to ensure minimum disturbance to trading, so a temporary roof covering was installed allowing the property to continue trading through the busiest segment of the year, thus losing no revenue.
RDF planned in the works so that deliveries to the stores could still be accepted, noise was kept to a minimum and the store received no complaints from customers throughout the works. This meticulous planning allowed the continuation of an undisrupted normal trading day for the site whilst the essential works were completed.
The client took the opportunity to upgrade the security to the store by installing a security mesh panel over each of the 1600m sq of roof spaces before the replacement roof covering was safely installed.
