Brick & liquor featured in Bar Magazine

One of RDF’s recently complete projects in London, Brick & Liquor, is featured in the latest copy of Bar magazine.

The Clapham based site, the second for the brand, is inspired by the edgy urban vibe of New York City’s East Village.

An intimate cosy feel was created through the decor’s warm colour palette with reclaimed wood panelling, brass fixtures and a solid steel, LED lit, dual height bar. The bar is modern, striking and tactile for the customer whilst being incredibly versatile and operational by the staff behind it.

The new shop front & entrance way were complimented by the signage which gives an understated welcome to potential customers passing by. Whilst the compact but functional kitchen ensure all the customers do not leave hungry. Structural alterations to the building allowed the site to be re-purposed from an estate agents into a 100 capacity high end bar whilst meeting all modern day building regulations.

A noise attenuating ceiling was designed & installed to ensure that none of the residential tenants above the property where disturbed as the property traded and used the high end AV system that RDF installed. This level of design & thought for neighbours was also incorporated into the mechanical extraction systems of the building, which had bespoke filtration and sound baffling units designed & installed as part of the building’s transformation.

The Tap on Tower Street is the brilliant new offering that has come from the dated Tap & Spile.

The funky interior design is complimented by the many different craft & real ales to try onsite or if you feel the need take away via the bottle bar and/or takeaway service that the site offers.

A plethora of Gins, Rums, Tequilas and Mescals are on offer for anybody wanting to try something new, different or hard to find. There is a large selection of board games located on bespoke shelving throughout the property to keep the customers amused and interested.

A full internal refurbishment including electrical alterations, new flooring, bespoke shelving, furniture and signage were all completed within budget. The external areas have new seating and smoking areas so that the building can still be enjoyed no matter what the weather.

Park Plaza Hotel watertight again

Park Plaza Hotel watertight again

RDF Building were called in to complete the full replacement of the roof at a 20 storey city centre hotel.

The urgent works were surveyed, quoted and on site within a number of days, much to the client’s delight.

The way that the programme was created enabled the hotel to continue trading with no loss of any M&E services, which were situated on the roof, whilst remaining watertight throughout.

“Your bespoke joinery came highly recommended by a renowned Wood Scientist and technical building consultant”

Following a successful tender submission, incorporating our detailed drawings and interpretations of how we would counteract the dramatic weather dynamics, a meeting was arranged at our Leeds Head Office with other specialists from around the UK, to discuss possibilities. We manufactured an operational prototype to show the client, not only the products but the finishes that would be applied.

After a series of further consultations, and ensuring the client’s satisfaction. We were appointed to manufacture, finish, deliver and install the bespoke Idigbo windows, doors and louvered venting systems.

The windows have an innovative 2 sensor, louvered venting system incorporated. There is an internal sensor to control internal humidity, external moisture sensor detects rain in the air, and this allows the vents to open or close depending on the Caribbean climate.

Once all items have been carefully loaded into a container and shipped, to their new home. Our skilled craftsman will then fly out to install them into the new built location.

A massive congratulations is in order for our newly qualified bench hand joiner, Jon Butterworth.

Jon passed his NVQ in onsite joinery at Leeds College of Building with a merit and continues to excel here with us at RDF. Since joining RDF, as an apprentice at the age of seventeen, Jon has proved that he is a valuable member of the team by his constant enthusiasm, hardworking attitude and exceptional joinery skills. Now nineteen he is looking to broaden his skillset as an onsite installer and will be installing bespoke joinery products that he created.

His can do attitude towards everything he is involved in at RDF is inspiring and we are more than proud to have him on board. We can’t wait to see what the future has in store for Jon.
