RDF Building have successfully won a tender to complete the refurbishment and delicate conservation of a Grade II listed building owned by Admiral Taverns. Whilst working closely with the client’s chosen designers JMDA. The Bishop Blaize is an attractive pub located in the heart of Richmond Market square.
As part of the refurbishment RDF have exposed old Wallpaper, whilst fitting the new bespoke back-bar, created in our own Workshop.

The Tap on Tower Street is the brilliant new offering that has come from the dated Tap & Spile.
The funky interior design is complimented by the many different craft & real ales to try onsite or if you feel the need take away via the bottle bar and/or takeaway service that the site offers.
A plethora of Gins, Rums, Tequilas and Mescals are on offer for anybody wanting to try something new, different or hard to find. There is a large selection of board games located on bespoke shelving throughout the property to keep the customers amused and interested.
A full internal refurbishment including electrical alterations, new flooring, bespoke shelving, furniture and signage were all completed within budget. The external areas have new seating and smoking areas so that the building can still be enjoyed no matter what the weather.
The successful delivery of a series of safe rooms at a care home has been completed.
Phase 1 of the redevelopment included the creation of several safe rooms for the benefit of the service users.
Works included, but were not limited to;
- Anti-barricade doors
- Anti-ligature ironmongery
- Anti-ligature sanitary ware
- Anit-ligature extract fan
- Anti-ligature, low surface temperature radiators
- Anti-ligature fixtures
The rooms were also refurbished with new flooring, wall surfaces and decorations leaving the service users with a brand new room.
The rejuvenation of the high end student accommodation which is the Melting Point has been completed.
The units were all in use for the duration of the works, with other students passing the site on a regular basis, therefore Health & Safety considerations were of paramount importance to us throughout the works.
The beautiful building dating back to 1878, which is now a number of private apartments, has had a series of different external repairs completed upon it to bring it back to it’s former glory whilst ensuring it is watertight and weatherproof.
The works have been completed to the usual high standards and quality levels but with modern products giving the building additional protection than traditional materials.
The Myrtle Tavern in Meanwood has been transformed during a blisteringly fast refurbishment – 21 days from design briefing to serving drinks!
The site has been rejuvenated with a traditional ‘cosy’ vibe that has, due to the locality of the cricket pitch, a minor sport theme infused within the design.
The bespoke corky ball and wicket screens are complemented by the cricket bat balustrade as well as the signed memorabilia that is positioned within the main bar. The clean stonework and oak flooring lead you to the new, ‘old’ back bar with its many tantalising spirits tastefully displayed under the new copper lighting.
New cosy pockets and corners have been created to allow customers to enjoy the space in a way that they could not before.
Convive restaurant a new build Mediterranean constructed at Grade II Listed Weetwood Hall is due to open March 2017.
All at RDF Building are extremely proud to have been involved with the creation of this ‘Top 10 Leeds List’ restaurant and wish it every success.
Following on from the successful completion of Phase 1 at the Grade II Listed Weetwood Hall, RDF were awarded the contract to deliver Phases 2 – 5.
These phases include the creation and construction of a new 120 seat Mediterranean themed restaurant, ‘Convive’, major refurbishment of the existing kitchen & back of house areas, a new bar, new dining area and refurbishment of the existing reception.
The new restaurant, which opens in early February 2017, will be part of the University of Leeds owned Weetwood Hall Estate but will retain an independent identity of it’s own.
Martin Pickles, of Flying Pizza ‘fame’, will be working with Weetwood’s MD and his friend, Martin Hicks, in the daily running and operation of the restaurant.
